You may be wondering how Travelocity determines which fares are displayed and the order in which they are displayed.
When searching for the best-priced trips on specific travel dates, Travelocity uses a combination of lowest base fare and departure time to determine what flight options to show. Base fare is the fare charged by the airline before segment taxes or airport fees are added. The flight options are listed strictly in the order of how they were ranked based on these selection factors -- the least expensive trips are always listed first. Whenever more than one airline provides travel at the same base fare price, flight options are listed with those closest to your desired travel times first. In no instance does Travelocity favor one airline over another. In fact, our flight data is provided by the Sabre system, which is used by more than 30,000 other travel agencies worldwide and is subject to U.S. Department of Transportation regulations (14 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 255.4) that forbid the use of displays that are biased in favor of particular airlines. Travelocity does not reorder the flight displays provided by Sabre under these regulations. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. |
